Music: Studio aims to create local music
A Langley entertainment studio that caters to local musicians and youth is looking for some help from the business community.

Nathan Kliem has big dreams for his business.
He wants his music studio,
Endoplasmic Entertainment, to be a one-stop production house where
local bands can practice, perform, and record their music.
But, big dreams cost big
money, which is why Kliem is launching a campaign called Friends of
Endoplasmic in hopes of elicting financial support from Langley's
business community.
"It's open to any business who wants to promote the youth culture and music and entertainment in Langley," Kliem said.
Currently, Endoplasmic offers two practice rooms and a concert venue, which are already almost fully booked for the next month.
Kliem, however, would like
to see his business expand to provide a recording studio for local
bands, such as Vodas, Complete, The Februarys, and Swingset Champion,
to record and edit their music at Endoplasmic.
"We're trying to provide a space where bands can have fun and make some money at the same time," Kliem said.
While Kliem will be
focusing on businesses such as Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and Tom Lee Music
which target music lovers and youth, he would love to see a variety of
donors participate in the initiative.
For a donation of $100,
$200, or $500, Endoplasmic will put the business or donor name and logo
on a brick to be displayed in the studio's main auditorium, where
weekend concerts are held.
Kliem hopes to raise
$50,000 through Friends of Endoplasmic over the next couple of months
in order to make improvements such as sound proofing and buying new,
top-of-the-line audio equipment.
He said many people and businesses in the community have already expressed their interest in supporting this musical endeavour.
"They've seen what we're doing for the community," he said.
While Kliem's main focus in
starting up Endoplasmic was to provide a space for bands in the Fraser
Valley to practice and perform, the music studio has turned into much
more than that. "We're such a positive
influence in the community for the youth. Parents are absolutely
surprised and impressed with the way things are running. It's a safe
place for teens to have fun on the weekend. We're getting them off the
streets and giving them something to do. Where else can parents let
their kids go for four hours of entertainment for under $10?"
If you would like to
